The Blue Hill FFA chapter has had a very busy year. Members from the chapter competed in district range judging, sending two junior teams to state. Morgan Ockinga, Markie Coffey, Emily Harrifield, Erin Kinley, Carly Kohmetscher, Amanda Brader, and Brenda Berns competed at the state level range judging in Ainsworth. Kinley placed first and Berns fifth in the competition.
The chapter sent 11 members to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN. Four of these members competed on a National Poultry Judging Team. The team received an overall silver for their performance with Christina Hubl, Megan Himmelberg, and Nicole Berns receiving silvers as individuals and Lance Atwater receiving a bronze.
Earlier this fall the Blue Hill FFA chapter officers were present as Governor Dave Heineman declared Adams County a Livestock Friendly County. Chapter President, Jeffrey Hubl, spoke to area and state leaders about the importance of agriculture in schools.
The chapter hopes to continue to strive for excellence in future competitions. Melissa Bonifas, chapter Advisor, hopes the students will continue being involved in FFA from the local to national levels.
